Abstract
The title of this paper is The Pidginized English used by Tourism Operators in Kuta. This paper is written based on the research that has been carried out in Kuta, which is completely supported by some ideas or concepts found in some sources books. The data which I recorded and wrote are spoken by vendors and shop attendants. Theoretical basis of this paper is taken from Donald Winford (2003), it is stated that “Pidgin is communication between groups of different linguistic backgrounds in restricted context such as trade, forced labor, and other kinds of marginal contact. These contact varieties were highly reduced and simplified, fashioned solely for the limited purposes.” After all data were analyzed, it is found that analysis of the expression can be classified into positive form, negative form, and interrogative form. Seen from their functions, the Pidginized English used by the vendors and shop attendants are greeting, offering something, giving information, suggesting and thanking.
