Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of vegetative growth of waxy corn in bamboo biochar treatment. The design used in this study is a randomized block design (RBD) with treatment doses of biochar, consists of 5 levels, ie: without biochar (B0), 10 tons/ha of biochar (B1), 20 tons/ha of biochar (B2), 30 tons/ha of biochar (B3), and 40 tons/ha of biochar (B4). Each dose level of biochar was repeated three times to obtain 15 pot experiment. Total oven dry weight per plant was obtained at the highest dose of biochar 10 tons/ha weighing 87.80 g, an increase of 26.02% when compared to the total dry weight per plant was obtained on treatment without biochar weighing 69.67 g. From the results of the regression analysis found that the optimum dose of bamboo biochar 12.91 tons/ha, with a total oven dry weight per plant maximum of 80.01 g.
