Abstract

Dang Hyang Nirartha as reformer of Hindu in Bali has been described a lot on text. However, archaeological heritage and the value of local wishdom related his peregrinationat Tuban village and Denpasar city are not revealed yet. The purpose of this research is to construct history of peregrination of Dang Hyang Nirartha at Tuban village and Denpasar city related with ancient relics and the value of local wishdom reflected. Specifically, this research is to solve the problems of the research. They are (1) to identify and inventory temples related with peregrinations of Dang Hyang Nirartha at Tuban village and Denpasar City, (2) to describe the forms of culturing heritage in the temples, (3) to construct the value of local wishdom from the peregrinations of Dang Hyang Nirartha at Tuban village and Denpasar City. To reach the target, four theories eclectically used namely cultural adaptation theory, cultural respon, layered cultural, and theory of hermeneutics. This research is designed based on qualitative method and cultural studies approach. The data collection was conducted by observation technique, interview, documentation, and it was analyzed inductively by descriptive qualitative model of analysis. The result of the research shows there are nine temples identified related with peregrination of Dang Hyang Nirartha at Tuban village and Denpasar City. Archeological heritages related with peregrination of the Wiku are in the form of monument, teknofak, and ekofak. The kinds of local wishdom value reflected from the archeological heritages are the value of technology, esthetic, religious, solidarity, economy, environmental concervation, education, and ethic moral.
