Abstract

This research is based on the phenomena in Nias language about “Metaphorical Lexicon in Wedding Maena Text in Nias: Ecolinguistics Study”. The objectives of this research are to describe about (1) grammatical category of metaphorical lexicon that used in wedding Maena text in Nias, and (2) dimensionality of the social praxis that used in wedding Maena text in Nias. The data of this research are obtained from wedding Maena video in Nias language that is transcribed in written form by the researcher. The data that have been obtained are metaphorical lexicon that consists of biotic and abiotic lexicon. In collecting this data used the observation technique and taking note technique.The data that has been collected are analyzed by using dialectical eco-linguistics by Bang dan Døør. The results of analysis were presented by using formal and informal method. Based on the analysis that was conducted, there are two findings found they are (1) grammatical category of metaphorical lexicon that used in wedding Maena text in Nias are noun that consists of biotic category such as: mbala (papaya), gae (banana) and abiotic category such as: te’u (mouse), mao(cat). And (2) dimensionality of the social praxis that used in wedding Maena text in Nias are consists of: biological dimension is showed by the usage of natural lexicon in Maena text, ideological dimension is showed from the concept formed by the true meaning in Maena text, and sociological dimension is known from the usage of the concept by the Maena text.
